Top honours for local Fastway Couriers franchise

Fastway Couriers  Regional Franchise owners Andy and Mandy McDowell have won the top honours at the annual Fastway Couriers Franchisee Awards held in Christchurch recently. After just two years in business and competing against 18 other regions around the country from Auckland to Southland, the Fastway Northland Franchise took out the top honours to win Regional Franchisee of the Year for 2010.

The judges were impressed by the McDowell’s 28% growth and their commitment to the success of their regional franchise business and to the local community. They explained that it takes something special to put community spirit into action and this husband and wife team have taken the opportunity to offer their valuable services to some important members of their community.

Andy and Mandy McDowell, owners of courier franchise in Northland commented on the honour, “We are absolutely delighted to win this Award, which has been a result of both the outstanding support of our team, but also from the support of the whole Northland community. We are now looking forward to a new challenge in the year ahead, and the goal of winning the award again in 2011”.

The McDowell family has a strong history in Northland. Andy is renowned for his previous opening batsman status for the Northland cricket team, and Mandy is a Northland born and bred farmer’s daughter. Their two children Liam (9) and Emma (6) now also attend a local school.

This Fastway courier franchise award follows several National Franchise Awards for Fastway Couriers over the past year including the prestigious supreme award for Franchisee of the Year 2009 by Bill Sampson (Tauranga) at the Westpac New Zealand franchise awards. These awards recognise excellence by honouring those individuals who have demonstrated best practice in franchising.
